Hello everyone. It's Wedding Season and it is my turn to host this week's Cricut Challenge. The history of weddings celebrated during the month of June goes all the way back to early Roman times, well over two thousand years ago! My daughter recently got engaged so love is in the air everywhere around my home. We would love to see what you might do with this challenge and hope that you will join us this week.
Well after many weeks of being ill I am back. It all started while crafting at a girlfriend's house. One minute everything was fine, and the next I was sick, chilled, fevering, and throwing up (well you get the idea). Started feeling better after about 4 days - and bam! I get an awful cold! Start to feel better after about a week, go to visit my mother. Again, one minute fine, the next my neck starts hurting, throat, and I am in the bathroom sick and fevering - and oh my gosh when will this end?? That turned into a chest cold, which I am still not convinced was not actually pneumonia. After five weeks I feel like half a million dollars! LOL Now on to this week's challenge. My very talented Design Sister Caroline has challenged us all to design a card or other project honouring our Mother or other significant person who made a big difference in your life. My mother has three daughters who will all be giving her cards for Mother's Day. I wanted mine to be unique and represent my individuality. I want my mother to look at the card and know - that is the card my daughter Kelly gave to me! Those of you who do not know me well I am going to share something about myself. I love heavy metal music and always have. I have a "Rock Star" who lives in my body haha. My sisters will probably give Mom a card with pretty flowers and ribbons on it. Not Me! I love you and You Rock Mom! Please head on over to Bitten By The Bug 2 and see what the Design Team has created and join us in this challenge celebrating our Mothers! I used the Rock Princess and Mother's Day Kid Cards in the Cricut Design Space to create this card. Here is the link to my card:
https://ca.cricut.com/design/#/canvas/27463689 We have another fun challenge for you over at Bitten By The Bug 2! Our DT Sister Mayra has come up with a Frame It! challenge. Check out all the wonderful designs my DT Sisters came up with to inspire to you. There are some very cute and wonderful projects! I used the button frame from The First Few Years cartridge. I thought this frame looked so darned whimsical and sweet! When I came across the gnomes (by accident) I just had to use them on my card. All the images were sitting there just yelling out to me (oh Kelly pick us!). I think they came out too cute!!! I can't wait to see what each of you come up with for this challenge. I'll be patiently watching the blog for your creations! Happy crafting! Link to my project in Design Space: https://ca.cricut.com/design/#/canvas/26067769
"Happy St. Patrick's Day!" "Kiss Me I'm Irish!!" "The Luck of the Irish!!!"
Did you know everybody is Irish on St. Patrick's Day? Yep! So put on a fun green hat and a necklace, drink a green beer, and don't forget to share a kiss (or two). My DT Sister Maureen is challenging you this week to create a project (card, layout, 3d project, etc.) with a shamrock on it. So get out your green and yellow paper and join us for this week's challenge at Bitten By The Bug 2. I can't wait to see what you come up with!!! My little gal above was created using the St. Patrick's Day digital image that can be found in the Cricut Craft Room and Design Space. I used the Celebrate With Flourish cartridge for the shamrocks and the CTMH Artiste cartridge for the memo embellishment. My sentiment is from a "light hearted" song in tribute to Ireland. While I was trying to come up with my own project design, I was reading a Facebook post from a friend regarding these different little fairy homes people make in their gardens. Some are cut into the side of a tree, made with rocks, made in planters, and some just have a simple door with a sign. So as I was looking this up I came across the quote used on my card and knew right away, I was going to put a fairy in my cage instead of a bird. Please join the rest of the Design Team at Bitten By The Bug 2 and show us your take on this week's challenge!
On a side note: I used vellum for the fairy's wings and shaded the edges. Here is the link to my card in Design Space: https://ca.cricut.com/design/#/canvas/25694532 My Design Team Sister Emily came up with a fun challenge this week in honour of National Old Stuff Day. I had never heard of this day and had to look it up. Historically, antique dealers and others interested in relics of the past set aside the 2nd day of March annually in appreciation of bygone artifacts. Presently people celebrate the day by revisiting their past. This include going to museums, wearing an old piece of clothing, listening to old music, etcetera. So Emily has challenged us to use an old cartridge we have not touched in at least 6 months. I needed a birthday card this month so I used the Wild Card 2 and Zodiac cartridges. In honour of this unique National Old Stuff Day, I am giving this card to an "old" person..............he's a real Relic hahahaha. He knows who he is and also knows this is all in fun. Please hop over to Bitten By The Bug 2's blog site to see what the Design Team has come up with to inspire you to join our challenge this week.
Here is the link to my card in Design Space: https://ca.cricut.com/design/#/canvas/25311098 Happy Crafting! My DT Sister Diana L. has come up with a really fun challenge this week. The challenge is to use a "Clock" on your project. When I searched "clock" in Design Space I had no idea there were that many Cricut cartridges with clock images. As soon as I found my clock image on Nursery Rhymes I already had my project designed in my head! Cinderella is from the Disney Happily Ever After cartridge. Cricut.com is having a sale on Disney cartridges!!! Thank you for stopping by my blog. Your next move should be to the Bitten By The Bug 2 blog to see the fun projects the Design Team came up with and get inspired to join our challenge! Happy crafting!
My DT Sister Caroline has come up with an exciting challenge for you this week at BBTB2. I came up with a truck shaped card. I never seem to have enough masculine cards in my collection. I used Cricut cartridge Outdoor Man for the truck shape and welded two together in Design Space. The sentiment tag is from The First Few Years cartridge. I like my cards to have dimension to them. So I embossed the bumpers and wheel covers using heavy foil adhesive paper. I also embossed the wheels with a chevron folder in my Cuttlebug. The card was cut at 7.9 x 6.92". Create this project by following the link to my project in Design Space: https://ca.cricut.com/design/#/canvas/project/24829662.
Hop on over to BBTB2 and see what the Design Team has come up with to inspire you to join this week's challenge! Happy Crafting! I designed this adorable card using the Kokeshi and Things file from Kadoodle Bug Designs. As soon as I seen this sweet little Japanese girl, I wanted to create something "just because" with her. So why not send a card to someone "Just Because" and brighten their day!??! This card is going in the mail today to a special friend. Go check out all the amazing designs from KBD and have a happy day crafting!
